I almost bought an AEM. But I'm having a baby instead!

Dean, let us know how it goes and what kind of gains you get. Do a benchmark Dyno before all your mods.

I wouldn't waste the money getting the AEM tuned before the S/C it will be $600 for a maybe a 10 hp gain and then you have to spend more money again to get it tuned with the S/C. It will be a lot easier and cheaper to get it all done at once.

basic set up and initial tune is pricey, but that's a one time fee. From there if you wanted to run NA with EMS, then put the SC on that's fine. Prices for tuning NA is cheaper then Boost, and the first time is a little more expensive because there is setup involved. Yes AEM comes with base maps, but you still have to set Ignition hard value, Throttle position and LOAD and RPM breakpoints. Once that is all set, you don't have to set them again.

The stock o2 does NOT work well with AEM. The o2 sesor calibratioins in AEM do not read well at all. A UEGO is a good thing to have to monitor the car as well. Air/Fuel ratio is just as important as oil pressure.

Either way it's up to you. The EMS is hands down the best thing you could buy for the S2k. All stock or not.

Pm me if you have any questions.

besides the temp gauge thing, the only other thing i didn't like about the ems is that it takes forever to crank up the car at cold start.

They're who I have in mind for the tune, but I want to have the AEM in my hands before I start bugging them about prices. I don't want them knowing what a PITA I am until it's too late.
So far (only had a few tries...) it only takes me about a half second to start mine cold.

Asian Dave, you really need to come visit us and catch up on everything. We miss you.

Dean, you can test drive my car next time I see you, now that I have it back.

Congrats! I'm so glad my baby making days are over. Now I can enjoy myself spending my kids'/grandkids' inheritance on the car.

I don't have a real interest in knowing where the car is at now. I'd rather spend that money on getting the car where I want it now that the factory warranty is about to expire. I'll probably take Jeff's advice and try to do everything at once, although I have no idea at this point how I'm going to accomplish that. I want to install the FI myself which means I'll have to figure out how to get the car down to 2nerWerks for the AEM install and tuning.

I have an interest in stock compared to intake, mugen dual, test pipe, header. Before and after AEM EMS.
