Default After 10hours

Well after 10 hours is in...............my new ACT stage2 clutch kit with a 8pound fidanza flywheel BTW "the stock fly wheel wieght 20 pounds"
is in and is sweet!!...I love it. WOW!! What a defference.
It was a bitch putting it in... even with a lift all the tools and shop conditions it sucked ass lol
If a had to do it over... now that I know what goes where... it would take me and my friend 6 hours
or less

I just want to thank Todd @ 2nrwerks for all the info he gave me about choosing a clutch. Also I want to say thanks to cmnsnse great write up on a clutch install.

Here is my bearing

The Disk

Pressure Plate

The 20 Pound FlyWheel

Well Well...I do not want to see a clutch for awhile...

Aww no pictures of the new parts??

Glad you are happy with the setup. So with a lightweight flywheel you can really tell a difference eh??

My OEM flywheel was a little over 14 pounds
They must have used heavy metal in yours ....jk You may want to reset the scale you used to weigh it on.

I put in an Exedy Hyper Single clutch kit with steel flywheel. The flywheel weight is 11 pounds clutch and presser plate is also 11 pounds, total weight of kit 22 pounds.
The OEM clutch, presser plate, and flywheel was 28 pounds. I trimmed off 7 pounds total with the new kit

My old clutch looks very much like yours Toasty

How's the low speed driveability? Issues with stalling when stopping?

Is a be deference when you go from 20 pounds to 8pound fly wheel my car of the line just wants to go... i love it. Now with all that power i need to focus on my driveshaft and rearend.

And to prove my stock fly wheel on my 2004 s2000 is 20 pounds.
I took a 25 pound wieght and put it on the scale as you see here

Flywheel

BTW Im just holding the flywheel up...

a couple dozen more clutches and you'll have it under 3 hours.

Good job, that disk is toast!!!!
Alot of hot spots on the flywheel and pressur plate as well.

Have you tried AC on and a passenger yet? That's the biggest test for me on a 8 lbs flywheel. Throttle response is great though isn't it?

I will check my scale tomorrow to see if it is off.
Did you have to do a brake in with this clutch? like a few heat cycles or have to drive the car x amount of miles before driving hard on the new clutch?

I have staled the car a time or two as well with my Exedy I too am trying to find that sweet spot so as not to look like a guy that can

I wonder if the stalling will be reduced simply by letting the ECU learn over a few days...
