Default Aftermarket header in Florida heat?

I was thinking of getting a USED PLM or Berk Header for the slight power increase and weight savings. Just wondering how owners with a aftermarket header feel about under hood temps. I have a AEM v2 intake I am about to install and I have a Berk test pipe.

The exhaust is staying OEM, I like the look better and no Police hassel.

Add your 2 cents.

Thank you!

I had a Berk header on my car and had zero problems with it. The header is ceramic coated, so heat soak was never a problem. You get a little more valve train noise, but that was it.

It's actually off the car and for sale if you are interested. Shoot me a PM.

Headers aren't really worth it unless you're getting tuned.

And adding more engine mods. Real minimal and not worth it if you ask me but then again I am an OEM guy so take that for about 1 cents worth. But if you are bored and have the cash to spend it makes for a good DIY weekend.

Mod wise right now I have a AEM v2 CAI and a Berk test pipe. I'm trying to stick with the Heavy OEM exhaust, since the Ap2 OEM tips and Ap2 rear bumper IMO, look best stock. Not to mention, less side of the road action with the Police.

I read a few people on here having issues with increased under hood temps after losing the OEM header with the heat shield. Maybe a header wrap, I don't put that many miles on the S2k to have to worry about it developing cracks.

Guess I'll just buy one when it pops up and see firsthand. A Used Berk or PLM header sell pretty quickly in the $300 range.
