Thumbs up Which Air Intake?

Any suggestions on which brand of air intake I should go with? I was trying to decide between Injen and AEM but now I see K & N guaranteeing the best performance (9HP to the wheels). How do I decide? I am interested in performance first over looks.

Is there another area where I should be asking these types of questions?

Thanks

Talk to some of us at the event tomorrow and check out Ben's ARC intake. I have the AEM V2 and you can even mod your stock airbox for better flow. Hit us up with some questions and we will be glad to help you spend your money LOL Seriously just ask around a bit and figure out what qualites are going to best for you.

BTW K&N boast = BS I'll explain tomorrow

link to dyno day showing different intakes

I've played around with and installed all different intake setups. AEM V1-V-2, various short rams, Comptech ect. ect. There is no intake for the S2000 that will give substantial horsepower gains......period. You'd be lucky to gain a couple wheel horsepower from the best intake. Make your decision based on looks, sound and price. If your main concern is horsepower gains they are all about the same. As PrimoRob said you can always modify your stock box. I ended up with the modified stock box for a good strong feel through the hot muggy summer months. Spoon sports modifies a stock box on their race cars so there is something to be said right there. Jim Vrabel ( you know the guy rolling on what looks like 22's) may be able to show you his modified box that I did for him with custom ram air according to the Spoon specifications as to modifying the stock box. The only difference is that they use a snorkle and completely cut off the far right chamber. It is easier to just plug the hole. Spoon uses their own foam filter and most people just use a K&N for slightly better airflow and reusability. The cold air intakes are more difficult to install and access the filter for maintenence. They do open up the engine bay and sound great but are more prone to water problems.

WOW! Never seen an ARC in person. That looks freakin' awesome.

I have had a PRM for at least a couple years now which is more of a short ram from what I understand but we also cut a hole in the passenger side faux duct and ran a hose up into the engine bay near the intake for some added air flow. The photos below are from the actual install a couple years ago. I have since (shortly after actually) cut the hose back quite a bit so it does not feed directly into the horn of the PRM. I need to take some updated shots because I also have just about every Ztec CF w/Red Kevlar weave piece you can get under there now that really makes a different in the bling factor (heat shield, air stuffer, and rail cap), plus Rick's S badges on the oil and radiator caps, and Nick polished the PRMs horn so it looks more like chrome now.

Love the sound a V-tec plus it uses a K&N style filter that is relatively easy to access and clean. I do bog down quite a bit though but I guess everyone has that problem?? Like HB and Rob have said just check them out and buy the one you think looks best and fits your budget. They all seem to have a slightly different growl at V-tec as well. I like the PRM a lot better than the Comptech but I've had other guys say just the opposite. Have fun with it.
