Default Anyone have Brighthouse High speed cable?

hey, I was just wondering if any of you guys used brighthouse to connect to the internet? I can never seem to download anything that is on the WWW. For instance, someone posts a link to a video or something on here.... I can never get past 4mb or so before it quits. Its fine if i use IRC or Kazaa, but I can never get anything on the web. Anyone experience this?

I think brighthouse for me was Time Warner. I think they also bill me for Earthlink? Sorry, I can't keep track, so much turnover in this field. If you are looking for internet connection, do Eartlink. It is VERY fast.

I've not had a problem with Roadrunner Cable - I guess now it's called Brighthouse. Your email address ends in @cfl.rr.com, right?

It's my understanding that cable modem speed suffers when there are a lot of users online in your neighborhood. Supposedly DSL speed does not degrade so much if there are a lot of users online.

In my neighborhood there are a LOT of elderly people, for now I'm probably one of a few cable modem users. Does your speed vary depending on time of day?

Try http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/

My speed was rated as Fantastic - about 1.6 megabits.

I did have a cable modem but switched to DSL because of the slow down periods I was experiencing with cable. DSL is much better IMO
