Hey does anyone know of a place somewhere around tampa/brandon that sells hardwire kits for the passport 8500 x50?? thanks

You can do it, it's super easy. a quick trip to radio shack and fifteen minutes in your garage and you're done.

You don't need to buy the hardwire kit if you have a crimper for RJ (ie phone) jacks. The x50 only uses the middle two of the four connectors on the jack; A +9V and a ground.

You can probably pick up a crimper at home depot for less than the cost of the hardwire kit (i'm guessing at prices as i didn't buy the hardwire kit), or anybody who does any work w/ telephones or computer networking hardware will have one. It takes about 2 seconds to crimp it on.

If you're near Tampa I'd be happy to make a power cable for you. Like i said, it's very easy.
