Sooo I'm curious... I might now want to get some SO3's.. when I have money of course.. UNLESS someone so kindly wants to buy 'em for me OK ok worth a shot. So how much do those lil suckers go for? I'm getting scared to drive in my SO2's and I only have close to 4K miles on it, ESPECIALLY after all these stories...

Oh yeah.. TKT I'm waiting for my Calipers to be done... When can I expect them to be ready??

The calipers are free with the purchase of my wheels and tires. 950.00 what a deal. LOL for you i'm going to go out and buy the tires, powder the calipers and have Rj install it all for free. LOL I haven't told him yet though.

The SO3 will run you about 160 a tire.

I just replaced my rear tires after about 14K miles. I stayed with the S-02 because of the dry pavement handling. From what I read on the tire forum, the S-03 gives you better handling in the rain, but there is a noticeable difference in dry pavement. And since I never drive my S2K in the rain unless I am caught out, I prefer the S-02. Both are good tires. Just handle differently.

Cindy - TKT's wheels are a good deal ... really

Like Don said, the SO3s are much better in rain than the SO2s, just make sure to get the correct size in the rear, 245/45/16 and NOT the stock size of 225/50/16. This preserves the dry handling balance of the car because the tread width of an SO3 is less than an equivalent-sized SO2. The fronts are the same as OEM, 205/55/16. TKT's tires are the correct sizes.

For new tires, I highly recommend buying them through Tire Rack. They have excellent prices, give great service, are a sponsor of our site, and Jim@Tirerack.com is a forum moderator. Their price for SO3s is $158 per rear and $128 per front plus about $35 shipping (for all 4), and there is no tax.

There's lots in the Tires and Wheels forum on SO3s such as this thread: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=32569

When you are ready to get rid of your SO2s, I'd be happy to have a look at them and make an offer.

I was thinking about getting some Yokohamas, has anyone heard anything about them specifically on our car?

Thanks for the GREAT info Coral Doc.. It'll be a bit till I get my new tires.. probably about a month or so.. gotta save up $$ and considering i spent it alot now with school.... well u know how that goes. My tires haven't really been ridden hard. I don't peel out.. don't really do anything stupid with the car... so they are in GREAT condition... I'll let you know when I am done with 'em... when the time comes Thanks again!!!

I'm probably one of the few people who own both S-02s and S-03s. I have the S-02s on the S2k which I only drive when it's dry. I have S-03s on my NSX and my Lexus IS300 and they are phenomenal in the rain. The difference is very noticeable after the S-02s have worn down some compared to the same wear on an S-03. The S-03 does stick well on dry pavement but it tends to SLIDE more than the S-02. I think this gives the perception that it doesn't stick as well. I think if you measure the real G force between the equivalent S-02 and S-03 they would be similar. The slip angle on the S-03s necessary to GENERATE this lateral force is higher, in my opinion.

Just my .02.
