Beach Day (JAX)
A couple of us were talking at the autocross and thought it would be a lot of fun to have a beach day on Sunday (5/7). We talked about grilling some food and doing some activites (frisbee, football, paddleball, etc). None of us would dream of driving our babies on the sandy, salty beaches, so I guess we could go to Neptune, Jax beach, or Hannah Park, but it's wide open for suggestion. Please respond if you're interested and then we'll work out the specifics.
*Looks like it will be Jax Beach. neptune doesn't allow grills on the beach and we've got to have some hot food. Here's a list of rules for Jax beach.*
RULES & REGULATIONS FOR BEACH GOERS AT JACKSONVILLE BEACH
Below are a few rules and regulations that will help make your visit to the beach safer for all.
1. Please use dune crossovers to the beach.
2. Keep off the sand dunes and do not pick the sea oats. They are protected by Florida State Law.
3. No alcoholic beverages or glass bottles are allowed on the beach.
4. Dogs or pets are ONLY permitted on the beach BEFORE 9:00 A.M. or AFTER 5 P.M.
5. Pets must be on a leash and must have a current rabies tag. Pet owners must remove dog droppings from the beach. Do not bury in the sand or allow the tide to wash it away. The dog owner is responsible for immediate clean-up in reference to the "Pooper Scooper Law".
6. Picnicking is allowed on Jacksonville Beach. Charcoal & gas grills are allowed on the beach. Charcoal must be removed from the beach when you leave.
7. Surfers are welcome but must have their surfboards tethered to one leg while in the water.
8. Jet Skis and catamarans are permitted, but can only be launched at the public ramps located at Beach Boulevard and 8th Avenue North. Once in the water, jet skis must stay 300 feet off of the beach, use idle speed until you reach that distance.
Rule 3 implies that we'll need to pre mix before we get there.
