For second I got worried when I read the thread title.....

What a great life. The 1st mate and I actually met him while sitting at the bar one afternoon. He was going throug his mail and gave my wife (yes he was hitting on her) his publishers clearinghouse sweepstakes envelope. We still have it tucked in the "last mango in paris" album.

So long Captain Tony...the next great adventure has started.

 

Just got an email that a certain well known singer will be in KW Saturday for the funeral

That's too bad. Guess it's not a surprise though. Met him 13 years ago and he seemed pretty old then!

 

He was a neat guy , I had several beers with him back in my 'drinking' days, A cook on one of my old ships lived with one of his daughters for a while, they don't make them like Capt. T any more.
