Default Check engine light

after many miles of high revving excitement, on my way back to my home in bradenton, the car threw a CEL. Car would almost stall when I came to a stop light then catch itself. If I blipped the throttle, it would rev, comedown, almost stall and then come back to a stable idle.

I checked the obvious culprits (hoses, gas cap etc) but nothing was amiss. The only thing that I found was the throttle cable was pretty loose so I tightened it to specs. I also topped off with a fresh tank of gas. Car seems like it is idling better and not trying to stall. I reset the CEL by pulling the fuse and replacing it. Light has not come back on after about 4 miles of driving.

Any ideas , oh great engine technoids?

Map whack that thing. Make sure the MAP is not loose. Same thing happened to me when I first got the car and that fixed it.

Could be a few things but I had a similar problem and it was map sensor problem.

If it comes on again definitely have the code read. Autozone does it for free if silvcivon17s can't make it.

well i had a MAP issue a couple months ago. it started when the car would have bogging issues then when you try to hit the gas, the car would feel like it would struggle then later go back to normal (this was going on for 2 weeks) then one day when i was at a light, my car completely died, like the rpms dropped soo low that the car just stalled even when i was in neutral! (4th week dealing with this) i got new MAP sensor replaced at honda for free (extended warranty WOO HOO! without warranty...$135) and when i looked at the MAP, i noticed that it was zip tied down. I mentioned this to partsmike and he said the cars including the brand new 06's and 07's come like that straight out of the factory. just figured i would mention it cause it mite sound like the MAP is either starting to go bad on you or its loose.

This also can be an o2 sensor problem. Even thou the CEL is out, the data is still being stored by your ECU. Get it scanned and find out what went wrong and then clear the code.

This is my advice to you, Good luck
