Thumbs down Check your tops

It seems that there is an inherant problem with chafing and causing holes on either side of the top right at the transition downward. One night out with friends, he showed me where his top rubbed into a hole. I checked mine, lo and behold, there was a nice rub that had almost gone through. Seems that the culprit may be the large swivel arm of the frame. My drivers side was nice and smooth, but the other side was rough and caused the rub (i think). Luckily, it is being replaced as we speak at no charge. Something to look out for. Sorry I don't have a pic, I dropped it off at the dealer today. Others may know or have also had this happen and may have some pics.

I found this (same area on mine but other side)

Common issue and also possible to get replaced under warranty if your dealership is decent. Good reminder though.

I have some black duct tape on mine on the inside. It will work for now, luckly it didnt get all the way through before I caught it. I dont think honda will fix mine being a 01, that would be cool though.

Where did you find black duct tape? I have regular silver tape on mine for now and am looking for something that doesn't stand out to me or my passenger so much lol. Walmart had basically every color BUT black.

I have some of that stuff. I never thought about using it. I might try that it wont look as ghetto as the tape.

Ohh and yea I got the tape at home depot.

Another problem with the top is when you are putting the top down , if you watch the top go back the frame bar that would usually be right over head with the top up pivots and is supposed to go back but it is not spring loaded to do so . what happens is that the bar will hold the canvas up and then the clamps will tear holes in both sides of the roof and I was told that if this happens it will not be warrantied . Heads up on this too !!!! Newer cars have springs to push the bar back in the correct fashion and this is not an issue but I do not know what year Honda changed this .
