It all started over the Thanksgiving holiday while visiting family in Arkansas. I decided since I was home that I would go to the Honda dealership to get my oil change before the drive back to Florida. About 10 miles from Honda, I experienced a slight power loss followed by the worse rattle known to man.
I pulled in the service department at Russell Honda and spoke with the service manager Mike Holland. It turns out that had oil starvation in the #4 cylinder!! Something that I never thought would happen to me.
Honda is in the process of putting in a new short block, under warranty. The service department even put in my new ACT pressure plate and disc for free. I had the best service while I was there. The only problem I have now is trying to get back to Arkansas to pick up the car to get it back here.

The car should be ready shortly, I talked to Mr. Holland today. The problem now is that I have to find a new set of pulleys for the new motor since one of the lightweight pulleys that I got from Ricks2k had some kind of bearing failure that makes it unusable. Rick said for me to contact Jeff@ricks2k.com to see what I should do.

Bummer! I'm glad that Honda is taking care of you - did they give you any hassle? I'm also suspicious that the failure occurred so soon after service. Do you know if they used the correct S2000-specific oil filter? Was the oil level full? I'm hoping that they did everything correctly and it was just coincidence, but I have an inquisitive nature .

I'm letting Barry know about this thread, you may be hearing from him (he's the keeper of the short block replacement thread).

I just got my car back this past weekend. I flew over to Arkansas and drove back home, here in Florida. I didn't pay for a thing, can't ask for anything better than that for Christmas!

Glad you got your car back, not everyone has had favorable experiences with AHM. How many miles did you have on your car?
