Default Crappy day out with nothing to do

Well i lowered my car about two months ago and ever since i have had a vibration under acceration. Well after doing some research i found out you can fix it for free with some work. You have to just swap out the inner cups of the axles from left to right. This fixes the problem and changes the wear pattern on the cups. took me about 2 hrs but well worth the work. now my car is smooth like it was never lowered and it just cost me my time with no out of pocket expense thanks to the advice of other S2k members

If you lower it when the car has low mileage you wont get vibration. If the car has above 25k on it then you lower it the cups of the axle have wear on them and it changes the angle of the cup and causes vibration. My car has 90k and only lowered an inch but i got the vibration. Now its fixed with out buying $200 spacers

Hey Ron I've planning on doing this for a while, any tips worth mentioning? I was thinking it would take longer than just two hours!

I have rebuilt alot of axles and i'm a mechanic certified in the marine industry. Plus i have air tools but alot of this job you have to do by hand. I would say it would take the average person about 3 hrs. I'm glad i did it because it sucked to have a vibration under acceration. It wasnt that bad but still bothered me. Even my friend asked me the other day why it was vibrating. I decided i need to fix it. As far as tips go if you look uder the DIY section it tells you how its done in the under the hood forum. I will do it for you for a small fee if you are interested pm me.

Ron, I need your help for my education. I had a set of axles and I put them together, measured them checked the component numbers and all the part for both sides are the same, the axles look identical, yet many members keep telling me that there's a left and right side (different) If you could point out to me the difference. Thanks bro,

-Wil
