Dragon Run
Well, I am making my final preparations. In an effort to keep themiles on my car low, I have been careful not to drive the garage queen that much over the last few weeks since I decided to make the trip. Afterall, I don't want to screw up my average of 9 miles a week on the car.
Yesterday, I washed her just to get the dust that had accumulated on her since I last washed her...oh about 3 days earlier...
I plan on cleaning her again today, putting another coat of wax on her and giving her a good interior detail. The laundry girls have small hands so maybe I can draft them into doing the engine bay...small hands are vital in cleaning those hard to get to nooks and crannies.
On Friday, I picked up a couple of bottles of premium Tequila, an El Tesoro Reposado, a Patron Silver, and a Herradura Anejo. (I tried to locate a bottle of Casa Noble, but it is virtually impossible to find locally.) I have conducted a scientific experiment and concluded that the cup holder in an S2000 will in fact accommodate a bottle of El Tesoro. While I in fact prefer Patron Silver on long road trips (it's a little lighter on the palate), there are certain sacrifices which an S2000 requires of its owner. It is still hard to cut lime and pinch salt while driving. I can do it on Interstates but haven't figured out how to do it on a switchback.
zdave87 and I are planning on driving up together...although for some unknown reason he has insisted on a 2 mile separation between our cars at all times.
I think it may have something to do with a sense of latent regret...what with him being the former owner of a Silverstone. (Actually, it was Sebring, but of course, as Jay gets older, the memory is the first to go.)

Last time I drank tequilla, they found me naked up a tree and I was banned from ever visiting Mexico again.
On a serious note: Tequilla and mountain roads NOT a good combination. I would use the 12 hour rule if drinking is going to be involved.

My old saying.....If you are going to be drinking all day, start early!
Just be careful. I have seen way too many BAD accidents in the mountains. Park the car. hand the keys to someone, then drink.

Triman...sounds like you like to have a nice clean car. Get a bra for your car before you go. The roads up there are notorious for rock chips and it sounds like those might really bother you.
