if you go out kite surfing in a tropical storm, you pretty much desrve whatever you get

I am fairly certain that the guy didn't have enough time to even realize what was happening, let alone pull the quick release.

 

I'm not sure he had time to release. That initial slam to the ground probably stunned him pretty well. He took off like a rocket after that mouthful of sand .

 

I have no sympathy for stupid people. If you put your self in harms way there's no one to blame but your self , i guess this kid didn't go through Andrew It's a shame the video wasn't clear enough cause it would have made for great JACKASS material, he definitely will go down in history as the first person in the State of Florida to almost get killed by 35 MPH winds just sad!!

 

That had to be a 60 mph gust. The news folks found him laying next to a building down the street. I think he hit a building.
