flat black paint
@toekneeq,
I've got a few questions if you don't mind.
Take for example, my car. It's an '03. There aren't any major dings, but there are a few nicks and scratches. How would the wrap look over that sort of thing? New paint of course would fill those in, but will they show through a wrap?
Along the same lines, would wrapping be able to cover the front license plate holes or would those need to closed up w/ puddy or something?
A real important question, i've got a turbo pushing 25 lbs under the hood. Obviously, the temps can get a bit hotter than a typical car. Will wrap on the hood stand up to that?
My car has been neglected over the last couple years b/c i've been travelling so much, but this spring/summer I really want to get it back in shape cosmetically, and wrapping would potentially be one option.

When it comes to wrapping over scratches, depending on the severity of the ding/scratch, you will see it. Not as much but you will just a bit. The reason why you don't usually see these things because the eyes are following the graphics and not the surface. Wrapping with a solid color is pretty tricky because you'll see the imperfections.
When it comes to holes, yes they do need to be filled somehow.
The temps of the hood is no problem. The 3M wrap material I use has a temperature threshold of -170 F to 465 F. With the laminate protecting it from the sun, wraps last, on average in Florida (Florida is top 3 worst UV rays states), about 5 years for horizontal surfaces and 8 years on vertical surfaces.
Of my 4 years of wrapping vehicles/boats and countless projects, I have not have one client come back for warranty issues. In the case I do have a warranty issue, I log the batch number of each roll I use for each job. So if I do have a warranty problem, 3M will be quick to resolve the issue. 3M doesn't mess around.
Hope this answers your questions.

toeneeg - How much for an OEM hood and trunk in matte black (and that little strip between the top and the trunk)? My trunk has no rear emblem, but has a cutout for a rearview camera...
Would heat be an issue with a turbo manifold? Mine is HPC coated, so I a don't think the surface temps ever exceed 800-900*... How does the vinyl take heat compared to paint (paint bubbles/blisters at a certain temp, not sure about the wrap)?
Also, do you do clear bumper wraps? I am moving up north in 6 months, and I dont want those crappy / salty roads tearing up the paint...

For the hood and trunk, roughly $300-$350. I don't have measurements right in front of me so I don't know exactly.
I've never really had a problem with a hood getting too hot for a wrap. If it does I wouldn't have a problem replacing it.
Your question about "clear" is a common question about wraps. Here's how it works. I take a white specialty vinyl. I print whatever I want on it, anything from pictures to solid colors, anything! Then I let it dry for 24 hours for out gasing of the inks. Then I laminate the print with a clear laminate which contains UV inhibitors to block UV rays and to also protect the print from scratches, abrasions.
This is how a flat black wrap job is completed. I print solid black. Then I laminate with a matte finish laminate. If I were to laminate with gloss laminate, it would simply be gloss black.
Make sense?

^ Yeah, I was talking about one of the clear films to protect the OEM paint from scratches... I have a C-West v2 front bumper...
I will probably hit you up before we move (Late April, depending on when the house sells)...
How much for the OEM trunk / strip between the trunk and the top?
And how long would it take? And does your warranty cover rock trauma damage? (dimples, bunching, etc.... normal driving stuff like highway debris... not a hammer to the panel)
How long would it take?
Thanks!
