Got to see some new S2KI folks and had a great time.
Just a few shots from the road course at Gainesville Raceway "Home of the Gatornationals" I have been going to the drags there for over 35 years and I never knew they had this tucked away in the back.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing the pics and great to meet you Saturday. It was fun seeing all the different cars but of course the favorite for me was all of the S's making a strong showing...okay, almost all. My "bling" S2000 as it was listed didn't exactly make any heads turn but that was the driver so take it easy on the girl.
I was really impressed with Chiung, Bill, and Don. Chiung tied for 3rd fastest lap of the day with Scott (another S but with lots of track experience). This was Chiung's first track day from what I understand. Bill's too and he was only 1 second back and had the early lead before Scott and Chiung trimmed some more time off. Don, I'm not sure how much time he dropped but he too tied with Bill at the end of the day which was really cool to see.
My videos turned out a little bumpy, but I'm going to fire up premiere, jazz it up a bit, and then I'll post them here. Also, I'll post up the pictures taken by the BMS guys and gals as they start to roll in.
What a great time. A nice little road course that our cars really take to. I liked the layout from the very first lap and my S just stuck like it was on a rail. If only the driver was as good as the car. Nice seeing everyone again. Scott, Chiung and Bill were fast all day. Shay and I got faster later in the day. Chiung, I hope you had enough tread left to get home. Can't wait to do an all S2000 event at this track.
it was soooo much fun. I had a blast and learned quite a bit.
I got more consistant as the day went on. I found a rhythm and a decent line, but I couldn't match the 1 minute time that Chiung and Scott put down. My last run I had a number of 1:01s, I missed a gear on one of them! next time, I will be better prepared.
It was great to pop my track virgin cherry with you guys. I really enjoyed pushing the car as hard as I did. It was good to know I could go beyond my abilities and come out safe and sound. Plus everyone was super cool and just hanging out was fun.
Thanks again. If ever there is another event, please put me on the list.
