Default General Florida question

Hello all, thanks in advance for taking the time to read my post. I was wondering if any of you had any sugestions for me. My mother who is in her early 60's is looking for a place to retire. She is into the arts, theatre, and golf. Her income would put her into the middle middle class so not ever place would work for her econmically. Can any of you give me any retirement suggestions in florida. Something like hilton head wont probably work for her budget; so any other ideas would be of great assistance.

Justin

I would say South Florida....Delray Beach, Lakeworth area...lot of retirement homes and lots of other old people for her to hang out with!

Good Luck!

Boca Raton & Pembroke Pines also have nice areas and quite a few retirement communities (if that's what she's looking for). Although, traffic in Pembroke Pines can be a b!tch.

I'm sure some of the west coasters will have some ideas about that neck of the woods.

Tampa bay area or Orlando are nice areas with tons to do. Florida in general is the ultimate retirement destination. It's GOD's waiting room!

North Central Florida - Gainesville, Ocala or nearby.

Only keep her in South Florida if you want her to get mugged or beaten.

First of all Boca Raton, contrary to Seinfeld lore, doesn't have many retirement communities.

Depends on what she wants to spend there are different places: Boynton Beach/West Delray/Naples all have higher-end retirement communities. Affordability may be a consideration.

Should this be an issue look toward Ft. Myers and South of Tampa.

Try Arizona

It's really getting expensive to live in the areas from Sarasota down to Naples.

There was a Condo development in Sarasota not even broken ground and all units were sold in less than on day with a deposit of $25,000 per

I hate to sound like an asshole , but the property values are definately getting out of hand. I just hate seeing land being sold at premiums and the politicians have no regard for future planning and don't give a shit about what these new communities are doing to the natural resources down here.

We've already got a problem with the water situation

Yes, especially if she wants to see Willie Gee all the time!
