New Smyrna is a great place, but for a retiree, I'd head up to Ormond Beach/ Palm coast. Seems like there's more for the older folks to do up there, and the facilities are newer/ nicer. Smyrna is getting pricey as well. The German cars are breeding here, just like in O-towne.
