Default Help me decide on an intake.... please

So, I've researched plenty and have narrowed it down to these 3... I know its a frequent topic so go ahead and tell me I'm beating a dead horse. But, I'm back and forth and figured I'd try to get some feedback.

I have an 05, its parked outside, its my DD and I live in FL with all the rain. I've had CAIs before and never had problems, so I'm not really worried about hydolocking.

The power gains between the three are debated and I've come to the conclusion that they are similar enough not to pick based on this alone. I prefer the AEM and K&N because I've read that they sound better/more aggressive than the comptech's closed box. All three look good, but the comptech takes the cake on looking the best. I'm worried about the AEM installation because I have to cut my precious love, but I can get over that.

So.. let me know what everyone thinks. The majority of s2k owners can't be wrong. I'm open to other opinions but sorry, I'm not up for spending an arm and a leg on an intake at the moment.

Thanks guys & gals! Sorry again about the repeat topic

x3

Aftermarket CAI's for the S2000 are rarely effective for the money invested in them. I'd say invest the money in a snorkel and the AEM/poly intake manifold gasket

decisions, decisions...

The gutted box w/snorkel is growing on me, but will end up costing the same or more (depending which snorkel). And the power differences between a snorkel, CAI, or simply stock seem to be a back and forth debate with no clear winner. And a question about the snorkel... is there any cutting involved with an AP2? I think I read of some fitment or clearance issues.

The PRM looks interesting, but I don't really see what the advantage with that over something like the k&n. They both grab air from the same spot, but the k&n has a heat shield to help keep the hot air away a little better while sitting in traffic.

I'm not really looking to turn this into the other dozens of threads on here where it becomes a debate about which intake's performance is best, I think I've read enough of that without being able to draw many conclusions.

Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming!

some snorkels require cutting of the hood only because the pathway is larger (better/greater air flow.) But, many are made to exact size of the factory opening. Just be careful with the one you buy.
