I can't believe I'm the first to say this... but... NO S2000's???
Well...not quite. I sorta kinda took two Hot Wheels sketches I found and made a couple S2000 - type changes to them. Granted, all are modded out so there isn't a distinctive model per se but the all yellow car I changed the back end a bit to have more S2000-type tail lights but left the car as a hard top. Sort of the same thing on the yellow and red car with the tail light, the rear bumper shape but it definitely had a different slope to the nose.
Anyway, it was fun. Chase LOVES it. I was actually just doing some measurements in his closet to put in some black and white shelving, bins, etc. for toys, clothes, and stuff.
Thx for the compliments everybody. Sandy and I were just discussing a day in May (1st half?) for a drive to Amelia Is/Fernandina for lunch then a drive back to the house for a little shin-dig. That happens you can see the room in person plus the final touches (closet, car bed, lamps, etc.).

I think most of the cars came from the package designs of the newer tricked out Hotwheels. Most of which are very cool BTW.
An S would disrupt the Hotwheels total theme. Unless he were to have used that one crazy style drawing from that shirt that keeps popping up for sale on EBAY. IMHO
J - man those are awesome! Not sure I can work those into the room since it's pretty well done (paint side anyway) but definitely good to keep in mind for the garage. Sweet! Thanks.
Primo - ceiling is definitely a trip especially after laying flat on the floor after hours of paint fumes and a few...okay several...okay more than several beers.
Re: skyline - actually just ran around with blue tape and went nuts other than a resemblence to the Modis building since I work in there but I'm glad it appears to have some realism.
Sweet! I'm just waiting for the time and $$ to be able to do something similar in my garage. No skyline though, just lots of black, chrome/stainless and flames!! Love the checkered ceiling with the wave effect, I was going to do something similar (checkered) on the floor with this stuff (www.racedeck.com) but may just have to go more grey on the floor and do that on the ceiling.
Not sure exactly what I'm going to do in the garage yet. That is several projects off but ideas include stuff like the S2000 pics J posted, checkering something whether it be part of a wall, the ceiling, etc. I tell you though...painting that ceiling was a million times more difficult that I imagined. Mainly because I didn't know what I was doing I'm sure but good night your neck would start killing you. Plus I was up and down, up and down, up and down the ladder measuring, laying out blue tape, climbing back down to see if the perspective was even close, going back up making an adjustment, back down to check it again, blah blah blah.
Sandy and I already painted the floor in the S2k garage but it's just one of those Rustoleum kits you get from Home Depot (beige with the white, brown, and black sprinkles) which matches the house and the cabinets I put in there. Another picture that I'd like to add to the garage motif though is one of my grandad sitting on the back of his '57 Dodge, in garage overalls, hands resting on his knees, cig in one hand, hair slicked back a bit....very cool picture IMO plus I loved that guy like no other and he was huge into cars, boats, the whole 9 yards. He'd love to be in the garage vs. any other room in the house.
Okay...enough of the trip down memory lane I suppose.
As far as $$$ it wasn't that bad...lots of trips to Sherwin Williams but if you get the base colors you need you can mix some of the shading yourself. Time...well there's a lot of time involved but I bet someone who knew more about doing artwork could have done it in half the time so plan it out and go for it.
