Paypal is pretty safe actually. Sign-up and get your bank account verified first.

You can then make direct transfers using paypal to another persons paypal account. If there are any issues, paypal makes the other person give you your money back and they handle everything for you.

I am a premier member and have made 100's of transactions with no real issues.

You'd also be wise to find "references" local to the seller. See if his local CO knows him and send him a PM. It's not going to give you anything to stand on if there's a problem, but at least it may give you some peace of mind about the transaction.

Paypal has been around for a while and is now owned by Ebay. So, it is pretty legitimate and i've been using it for years (since they used to pay you $5 for every referal and transactions were FREE! )

Definitely get 'references' for the seller. If he is a S2ki.com member then do a query on his posts to see if anything looks 'fishy'

I used Paypal for my wheel purchase through a private party from here on the site as well. He was in NC

My payment was 2K and I even got a call from paypal to verify that I indeed made that payment about an hour after I sent it.

they also have a 30 or 45 day safety net if something does go wrong, you can charge back the funds
