I have finally made it
after 35 driving hours, which totaled up to 4 long days of driving of 2500 miles, i have finally made it to SD.
it still feels surreal that i had just driven all across the country. for some reason, i still feel like that i'm visiting here, and when i went out to the drive way, and it weird me out that my car is sitting there.
so here's a bit of my driving experience. i took turnpike up to I75 north, then I took I10 west.
i by passed new orleans by taking a detour of I12 for about 45 minutes, then went back on I10 again.
Texas is a big ass state, it took me a day and half to get through that sucker.
new mexico is like a dead stick, i was afraid to stop at the rest areas even in broad day light.
arizona was a bit better, but still felt like like NM.
then i went through cali's desert, almost went out of gas because i decided to push my luck on the gas mileage.
of course, i had to hear my mom bitch for 45 minutes about me should have stopped when i still had half a tank left.
then i finally found a gas station, and it turned out that i can stretch it out all the way to 290 before the light comes on (that's with the supercharger too).
gas price (93 octane) was at the about $3.00 all the way to cali. then as soon as i crossed the state line, it shot up to $3.57.
and that is the shitty 91 octane.
so all in all, i made it to cali in one piece.
but my car is so dirty it looks like it just took a mud bath.

btw, i just checked the oil level, and it was on the L mark of the dip stick. how much oil should i add to get it back up to the optimal level? or maybe i should just go get an oil change anyway?
Sounds like a good trip. Would've been better if you had more time to make it a road trip. I went on a road trip to LA last summer, got to New Orleans, was gonna stop for rest but took a look around and thought "damm i better get the hell outta here."
How much did you spend on gas. The Scion xA made it with $350 and average of 38mpg; and thats with stopping by the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas.
Glad you made it there safely...Alot of bad drivers in SD!!! becareful...

hey man!
It's good to hear that both you and your mom survived the trip.
There were pretty good odds that one of you two wasn't going to make it. Sounds like you took the flattest, er um, fastest route out there. Enjoy the weather, the sushi, and mexican food. How's the strike today, BTW?
