i won
yes.
you read that right.
i won...
but i lost.
After achieving a first place in Sebring this Sunday, and John with a third place finish, I tie the year end points with John Ward (Compisimo). And with a tie, he squeaks by with a win in championship points for the SCCA CFR East Coast region. It couldn't have been any closer. A single cone that someone else hit controlled my destiny -or- four-one hundredths of a second at the Deland Autocross on 04.27.08 -or- my lack of skill as a driver (i freely admit that this is the real reason
)...
All is fair in love and war, and apparently Auto-X too.
Great competition all around. Speedy had a great season, and if a Fay didn't drown out a Deland event, well... things could have been different. But all told, John won fair and square adhering to our gentleman's rule of running street tires for the entire season. No question, the better driver won.
Congrats John on a well fought and well deserved win.
kudos man, kudos.

Thanks Bill, and everyone else... this was a great year, but there is NO WAY that i would be able to have won without the help of a few key people who allowed me to run their cars for a few points events while i was trying to sort out my problems with my car...
Most notably Rich (no-cones), who allowed me to use his car for a majority of the events i was without my car for, and generously allowed me to run his street tires for this event.. THANK YOU so much Rich... i'll never forget it my friend!
This was a REALLY fun season of racing... i enjoy running with you guys. So much so, that i am thinking seriously about joining y'all in STU2 next year instead of running the full BSP schedule... Its nice to actually have people to run against who challenge you this much... this points race could have gone many different ways this year. Next year should be awesome!

And now... pics from the weekend!
Beginning of Practice Day on Saturday!
