start with your CDV and go from there.
Congrats to John and WG ... and everyone else who even manages to participate.
This is never an easy thing with early start times, long drives. and night before/morning of preparations
I WILL be competing in a few more events this year ... and probably a Chin event at Savanah if nothing else. I think i have a 'practice' track available to me now
See you guys there ...

Congrats guys, sounds like a lot of fun. Although racing is fun, I sorta miss autocrossing but taking the race car to local events is a bit of a pain...
If your events were closer I'd buy some tires for my S and go out there and tear it up, looks like you guys have a good group

The first race of the year for SCCA should be in early January i think (they haven't annouced the '09 schedule yet, but in '08 it was Jan 6th), but if you're looking for practice between now and then, there are still 2 events for the east coast, and one event for Brooksville remaining this year... non-points events, but still track-time

Registration: State Champs Registration
It's being put on by Martin Sports Car Club, but they'll be using SCCA classes/rules and run order. If you register by midnight Oct 31 you'll get a commemorative 35th anniversary polo shirt and lunch.
I'll be in A-Stock, and of course there's BSP and SM2 for those that have upped there prep level. Currently, there's not a good class for S2Ks on street tires, but if enough people will commit to showing up, I'll use my small influence to try to get an STU2 class established for the Champs.
No gaurantees, but I'm pretty sure if 4 or more are willing to commit, they would make a special class. Show of hands?

yes.
you read that right.
i won...
but i lost.
After achieving a first place in Sebring this Sunday, and John with a third place finish, I tie the year end points with John Ward (Compisimo). And with a tie, he squeaks by with a win in championship points for the SCCA CFR East Coast region. It couldn't have been any closer. A single cone that someone else hit controlled my destiny -or- four-one hundredths of a second at the Deland Autocross on 04.27.08 -or- my lack of skill as a driver (i freely admit that this is the real reason
)...
All is fair in love and war, and apparently Auto-X too.
Great competition all around. Speedy had a great season, and if a Fay didn't drown out a Deland event, well... things could have been different. But all told, John won fair and square adhering to our gentleman's rule of running street tires for the entire season. No question, the better driver won.
Congrats John on a well fought and well deserved win.
kudos man, kudos.
