i'll be in the area
Hi fellow s2k owners i'm going to the keys for a little vacation in a month just want to enquire how it is down there and some of the things to do while on the island
Which Island?
Sorry, lot's of wise-asses in this forum. You mean Key West? Probably High 70's-80's, 60's (maybe 50's) at night. Duvall Street is a lot of fun, just be aware of the alternative lifestyles (nightly drag contests, and not the kind with cars). An awsome place to eat seafood is Turtle Krawls; it's an open-air reastaurant that used to be a turtle canning factory. It's not on the main strip, so get directions from your hotel.
Lot's of great SCUBA diving (wrecks/sharks), but not much to see snorkling. The best thing -- a T-shirt and flip-flops will get you into the nicest reastaurant down there. Very laid back.

Key West is a great weekend getaway. I have to second what jvils said, the atmosphere is soooo laid back it's amazing. I heard that Key West has more bars per-capita than any city in the US. If you're interested in snorkeling, John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo is the best I've seen in the keys, and a bit less expensive than Key West. Also, it's a must to go to Mallory Square (end of Duval St) to see all the street performers and watch the sunset.
BTW, are you driving or flying? The last island-hopping stretch of U.S. 1 through the keys is breathtaking. We love making that trip with the top down in the S.

no unfortunatly flying a little to far if i had two weeks i might have drove but i think i'll just rent a car and drive over just for fun
.
. That is a good thing
i'm glad it's laid back that is exactly what i'm looking for. Thanks for your info.

By "Island", I believe he means the lower 2/3 of the state of Florida. Remember, the Florida Barge Canal cuts across the state and creates an "island for the lower portion. So technically, it is an island. Maybe that is what he means.
