Default Interesting oil leak found

Well I took the car off the jack stands yesterday and took it out for a lil drive. Before I did I did my usual walk around of the car checking that everything was in order. Popped the hod to check the oil, oil = good so looking around the bay I noticed that the passenger from of the head some oil residue on it that didn't appear to be coming from the valve cover but more from the tensioner I believe. Has anyone else had this problem? IS it a pain in the ass to fix. I want to get all leaks under control now before this project goes into it's next phase. Thanks in advance.

Jeff

Oil in that area can be coming from the tensioner, the vtec solenoid gasket, a possible unsealed area on the valve cover gasket (like if there happened to be a smaaaal dirt particle or something on the gasket when you put the VC back on), or if you're running a filter on your valve cover where the hose would run to the intake, it can get oil in the filter dripping out lightly... it'll make its way around the valve cover gasket, and deposit right in that area... issue is also amplified if you have a failty PCV valve, or are not running the hose to your intake manifold for said PCV valve...

been there, dun that, had all 4 issues... still have one. lol!

I had all these leaks about five months ago I went to Honda and got all the orings and gaskets, with a very little amount of Hondabond and pulled each part of cleaned them up real good and reinstalled. No more leaks and actually runs better. I also had problems with the vtec to were it felt weak on engaugement. I pulled the vtec all apart and replaced the seals and cleaned it up real good too. You could actually see where it was loosing oil pressure within the vtec unit the orings were brittle from age and heat.

Mine is doing the same exact thing. I thought my leak was coming from my vtech but when i pass my finger right under the tentioner is always wet with oil. I tried many ways of fixing it by putting honda bond on the part before installing it and I still get the same leak. So i give up. If anyone has any more sugestions please let me know. Thanks.

I have the same leak, seems like its coming from the TCT. Its extremely slow though so I don't worry to much about it.
