The site info thread has been locked since Cthree got his last word in. And ultimately I see his point.

I was never really pissed off but my points are being mis interpreted. All of these little signatures impact nothing and he is just pissed off about it and he has the right to make policy. The point is/was moot to begin with but it makes me feel differently about the site now. Tampa Racing has sponsored banners and people can promote in thier signatures. I dont think they are losing money.

It is an unfortunate reality. I was just trying to help out. It does not really effect my ability to remain aloyal member but like I said, I just have a bad taste in my mouth after all is said and done. Kind of like a friend who all of a sudden removes themselves into a strictly business relationship with you, just hit me oddly from left field.

They discussed the Local CO's having the ability to post banners in our local forum. I think James, Todd, Ztec, Jeff and any body else, should utilize this functionality. We could charge a nominal fee and keep the revenues in one of the CO's accounts somewhere as an event fund of sorts so we can start draining kegs LOL

Seriously though I think we should all get together and come up with a system of promotion, at least for the Florida forum. If it works and it is good, we could share with other communites. I hate losing this resource for products and services.

Todd has to get a proper membership. Period I am surprised his sig has not been obliterated.

James you have to go into your signature editor and get that wrist slappin' shit off of it or petition Chtree or hondaGal to clear it out so you can load it up with bandwidth destroying animated banners (I have got plenty--LOL JK). You should clear it up and have a proper signature.

Lets have a vendor meeting with as many CO's as we can get in a central location so we can come up with a kick as banner system. I will design them for free for all that participate.

Is it because vvs is not a member.

vvs by now, with all your posting, I would think you would become a member.

Heh, I never even noticed the change in my sig until you pointed it out. IMO, this site has slowly become less and less user friendly. I was a Gold Member for several years until posts began being removed without warning or explanation, rules changed that prevented even S2000-specific mods by S2000 owners to be sold (something originally OK to do), etc... at that point I just let the membership run out and I won't be renewing it. I enjoy the company here, but what started out as a group of like-minded individuals in love with the S2000 has become little more than a business venture with a lack of soul. Erik's choice, and he's happy with it, but as the site has changed so has many people's interest in it... and life goes on.

I am down for that. With area specific banner placements at least we can govern our own promotions within the Florida forum.

I would love a sit down with you Nick and maybe the rest of the CO's and see if we can come up with a plan to benefit our area at least

Nick, Can you see my holding my breath? Management has already made it pretty clear what they think about "free" advertising, regardless of the purpose.

If you guys have an extra hour or so to read through the thread I posted above, Cthree and other do point out that we have the ability (within our forum) to post banners to be put in the mix at the top of the pages. Most communities do not even utilize this feature and of those that do use it, very few ofthem even charge for it.

I am confident we can come up with a plan to post local banners in our forum for a nominal charge and use that revenue to better our group meets (buying refreshments, food etc). Think of it more as a donation to take advantage of some exposure.

It is not as prolific as a banner that appears on the whole site or the highly felonious signature text, but it does offer exposure to those who happen to browse our forum.

Now we just have to come up with some really good thread topics and link the hell out them in the other forums LOL JK

But to retort MacGyver's comment we are already allowed to post banners in our forum from what i have read in the other thread in "Site Info"
