Default License suspended

So two days before christmas i get a letter in the mail saying my license will get suspended on January 10th because of an unpaid traffic ticket.
So about 6 weeks ago i got a ticket for not having proof of registration. Being a good citizen i paid the $10 fee two days after the ticket. So
I thought it was solved, surprise surprise 6 weeks later i get this bull shit letter. Now i have to go back to the courthouse, get this shit
cleared up. Then take the paperwork that shows that everything is cleared up to the tax collectors office .... what a waste of time.

What is the lesson: Don't pay your ticket too quickly cause when i went to the courthouse the ticket wasnt in the computer system yet and the lady
who doesnt know what she is doing had to put the information into the computer system . I would at least wait 10 business days if you can.

No offense intended man, but I thought this was common knowledge?

In fact, I'm pretty sure the cops have told me this before when they issued a ticket...

When I used to live in Vegas it took about 90 days for a ticket to enter the system.

It shouldn't be an issue as I think it is still legally possible to pay and resolve all traffic infractions (if it is just a simple fine) with the issuing officer at the time of the infraction.

Just take your receipt down to the traffic dept, expose their error, and wish them a Happy New Year

You just have to show proof of registration... that's what they are waiting for...

The reason that the suspension was issued was because the person put the wrong ticket number into the computer system. So I guess you can pay after you receive the ticket, there is no waiting period necessary.

In florida you have to take care of the ticket in 30 calender days and with finals and school exams I had to take care of it as soon as possible since i have 2 to 3 tests a week for a month straight

There is waiting period based on when the ticket gets put into the computer by the LEO, if the officer hand writes, vs. printing out a ticket from his computer it is not immediately put into the system, therefor it can take up to a week for a handwritten ticket to be processed and you being able to pay for it.
