I'm in IT looking to relocate to FLA.. I'm a networking unix/nt guru.. I'd easily qualify under a TN visa.. can PM my info to anyone.. It's going to be a "who know thing" as I've had no luck with the local head hunters of south florida..

so if any of you fellow s2k owners, like my subject says, I'd love to switch my dash over by the press of a button :-)

thanks

sj2000; The market is very slow right now especially in Florida. My company closed its office in Miami and I might have to start working back in Sales because of it. Usually it's who you know not what you know that will get you in the door. If I see anything I will shoot it over your way, but just letting you know that it's pretty hard right now.

Try monster.com.

The MIS/IT/IS industry is pretty slow these days, since the internet boom fizzled out a few years ago. I know several people, but they run Microsoft shops.

*good* being the key word here.... alot of people claim to be proficient in the use of unix or another variant (linux, *BSD, solaris, etc) but when it comes down to it about all they can do is list the contents of a directory and *meybe* start an X windows session. Being able to click your way around an x window environment does not mean you are unix savvy. It has become common place for people who have used *nix in its X windowed encarnation to claim themselves as knowldgable in *nix when applying for jobs and therefore employers looking for people who REALLY know *nix do not tread in the normal streams of former dotcommers looking for new jobs. Where you go has alot to do with who you know in this bussiness, especially right now with the economy the way it is.

You should have done this 3 years ago and just by posting on this bullitin board alone you would have probably had 6 offers on the table.

I am a unix systems administrator for a wholesale webhosting company here in fort lauderdale and we are always looking for good help. If you like, send your resume to me and i will pass it on to my boss and see what he thinks. My email address is fuk.spam [at] daemonsync [dot] org

good luck in your search

Good luck to you... Good UNIX people are hard to find. BTW, do you have any experience with the HP3000 platform? My company is always looking for good HP3000 operators.
