Rich, You got rid of your S for that. I like the goat O.K. but they also put the LS2 in a Vette.

Sorry, but you put pics of a Pontiac on a S2000 forum. You have to expect some grief.

I knew I was going to catch some grief, but believe me, I'll take all the grief that anybody wants to give. This car is just monster beast!!! you guys just need to get behind the wheel. Performance wise the Honda can't compare. that being said I still think that the fit and finish on the Honda is fars superior.

J & Troy I still have the S, but I think I'm going to get rid of it. I'd hate to turn it into a daily driver. Carol say's that I can keep it, but I think I'd rather have the money. I'll probably put in in the auto trader within the nex couple of days.

I guess just want to see what I can get for it and If I don't get what I want, I will start driving it to work.

I did drive the 05 GTO and it is a nice car. Much better with the LS2. Straight line is great 4.8 0-60 Quarter mile 13.1. Road handling .80 Gs.

Got compare all the performance. That is why you see most of the guys auto-crossing the S and not drag racing.

I bet your glad gas is coming down. That 16/21 MPG has got to hurt.

Not trying to down your car. Like I said it is a nice car.

Hey Jeff,

I agree with you 100%, if you want straight line power, go with the goat(same price as the S, with GM incentives cheaper) now's the time to buy cuz they're clearing them out. The S was advertised as a roadster and thats what it is, it wasn't built to be a drag car.

I did see the episode where Auto Week test drove the GTO and they did some drifting, that was impressive and nothing bad at all to say about the car either. I would say the handling is quite adequate and I'm sure those guys selling after market products will come up withe more products to stabilize it even further.

I'm not posting to badmouth the S, but because I was real excited about getting a new car and it being a performance car and thinking that the guys on this board appreciate all cars in general without having to flame someone for being proud getting a new ride. This is with regard to the 1st reply after my post. Like I told some of the guys last night, the S maybe gone, but after the warranty is up, on the goat, maybe I'll get another New S! besides the S is not gone yet, so I'm officially and owner until it goes.

Congrats on your new ride I here they are tits on the track I thought I share a few pics of my old GTO, shes a 1970 455 HO with a 4spd. big posey gears and she was a freaking hand full bounced like a ball off the line and even at 60/70 mph if you mashed the peddle she pulled like she was standing still I was going to put a set of ladder bars under the rear but never got around to it. Sorry for the pore quality pics but this was back in the day, old school camera It was blue when I got it and I painted it black to be cool

Those are cool pics!!! I wish they would have done a little retro on the new goat to give it some of the old schoo looks. theys should have done the hood scoops like the original.

My highschool buddy had the 66 GTO with the tri-power and that car hardly ever got beat. thanks for the pics,I'd like to see it in person. Thanks for sharing!!

BTW, it would have been cool to have the gauges on the hood like original, or put a heads up in the new one
