The people that race in the earlier Mustangs usually have some mods. They may not tell you though, especially if they lose.

I understand about people mod'n their GTs. Point is in stock form they are slow, with the exception of the '05.

i think your info is incorrect... the GT with 260HP runs very low 14's bone stock with manual, and the S/C 390HP cobra runs high 12's stock...

Either way you miss a few shifts and you can loose to a much slower car.

Hey...I didn't put that info together...someone else did and posted it on a website. I am sure the info came from somewhere like Road & Track or Car & Driver.

its weired, i think one of the guys were lying about his mod... they both said they only had exhaust.. both were about 02 or 03, and one i was able to edge out, the other one just blew me away completely.. lol

my overrev situation... tried to shift to 4th gear from 3rd.. went to 2nd.. ouch, most awful sound in the world...

a stock 99 to 04 mustang GT by far is not a slow car (nor that it is fast either), it all depends on the driver that's racing it.
