NA1 vs AP1
So coming home last night from QSL, while crossing the Howard Franklin on I-275, I see these vaguely familiar looking tail lights up ahead. It had stopped raining, but the road was very wet. I pull up along side a beautiful red NSX, and we are pretty much the only cars on the road on this 4-lane bridge. The NSX is my dream car, and guess what, he is the same color as me
To my surprise and delight he actually drops a gear and starts playing around with me speeding up and then slowing down. We drive beside each other until we get over the top of the bridge, and the next thing you know, I rev match my F20C to 6500 rpm's in 3rd gear, and he hears the high pitched whine. Then I did probably the most exhilarating thing ever since I got my S-- I raced my dream car WOT.
It only lasted a few seconds(the best things in life do); we shut down at 90mph because it was wet and we weren't that stupid. But I am happy to report that the NSX pulled about a car and a half on me. Right in the beefiest, best spot for an AP1 to pull too, 6500-9000 rpms in 3rd gear
We rolled down our windows even though it started raining again and gave the thumbs up, and he pulled off to get on the Vets. I went home knowing that that is the best race I will ever lose

Ah, yes NA1 vs. AP1 oh so familiar. Primo and I messed around a bit an I say the S and NSX are a pretty even up to 100mph. I think I can get the S from a dig with my traction control on by at least 1 car, but second gear in the NSX is horrible and the S will be even or just a nose in front. I shift into 3rd gear @ 90mph then its all over. The NSX is a 100mph to 180mph monster.
Just some stats:
AP1 - 2800lbs, 240hp, 9K, close ratio gears
NA1 - 3150lbs, 270hp, 8K, long gears
In a power to weight battle the S2 is better and the 9K makes up for the rest. So which would I prefer, in a street light to street light race, the S2, from a 70mph roll to 140mph the NSX would be the victor. Two similar cars but two different types of performance.
I do not condone street racing! Lets do a track event and get some times and have some fun.
