Default Navigation Systems

For those rare occasions when the Spanish Navigator isn't around, does anyone have any recommendations or experiences with GPS navigation systems? I would like to get something with voice and on-screen map directions. I would like to keep it under about $350.00 to 375.00. It seems like the Tom-Tom One and Magellan are running about $250.00.

I have a Garmin and love it, (I have many friends who have had problems with the Tom Tom units) however mine is one of the older models (C330) and a bit large especially considering I bought it specifically for business travel. I fly and rent a lot of cars so having a portable Nav system is a god send.

I am looking at the Garmin Nuvi 200W or the 250W which are slim wide screen versions and they have been on sale for under $300.00. When i purchase it I will install one of Modifry's brackets for the S and use it vs. the suction cup mount which I will save for rental cars when I travel.

I have heard the same thing about the tom tom one too. I bought a garmin today for 200. I havent used it yet but i have heard it s one of the better lower end models. It is teal and black in color. Good luck in the hunt, they are hard to find right now, at least the cheaper ones are.
