the only reason i would buy it is for wind noise. The iphone earplugs are great but the mic picks up alotta wind noise. The Jawbone was a potential solution.

Thanks!

I got the Nuvi 250w from santa......I love it. It has all of the US, Canada and Alaska in it. It has all the same features as the high end units without the mp3 player and fm modulation.

It just boggles my mind that all that info is in that tiny unit.

I agree....left lower windshield works best in the S
Captain

I agree the lower left is the best place for windshield mounting and that is where I mount mine (Garmin C330) however I took the plunge on a new Nuvi 650 from Costco for $299 and just ordered the dash mount (to the left of the temp control) from Modifry.com and the panavise mount which is to the left of the radio door. I am not sure which one I will use yet but the prices are very reasonable and I ordered the "Nuvi ball" mount he offers which make it easy to get on and off the bracket.

I wanted to make the mounting look cleaner and hopefully I wont need an external antenna if I use the dash mount even with the top up.

Check it out at www.modifry.com

I am leaning towards the 650 too after I got the input from people on the thread and looked at some review. I don't see were the 200 or the 250 have the text to voice feature.

Thats why I went with the 650 as well. I figure for $50.00 the feature is worth it.

Now I can sell my C330!

I will agree that that is a good price on the 650 but does it have the NT 2008 map sets Some of the older 650s shipped with the older map sets which costs $80 to upgrade.

I really havent missed the text to speech. as I can glnce at the screen and see the name of the street I am looking for.

I am still in awe of the information that is in a device that size.
