Default Need help with Miata mods

I bought April a little 1990 Miata a few month back. The car is all stock except for an upgrade stereo and a set of crap wheels that I already got rid of.

Since we got it, I added a set of late model Miata OEM 15

The Tein Basic coilovers are supposed to be great, and they use shorter than stock shock bodies to help retain suspension travel when you lower them down. I bought a set online for under $800 shipped, but got rid of the car before I ever got around to installing them.

As far as exhaust you can't go wrong with either Racing Beat or Flyin' Miata. They look extra good with the dual outlets too!

Flyin' Miata has some nice stiffening stuff too.

Ohhh, I've got some experience.

I would highly recommend sway bars, that has probably been my favorite mod on the car (along with an LSD, but you've already got that taken care of). I've got flying miata sways on my '90 and racing beat on my '99. Both of them completely transform the car. They really eliminate that horrible body roll when cornering. Fronts and rears are $200 from FM, I actually happened to catch them on sale for $150.

The first mod I made on the '90 was putting springs on it, of course the shocks immediately blew out so if you're considering going that route go ahead and get shocks too. I've got some racing beat springs with Tokico Illumina shocks. You can find the shocks really cheap on ebay and I bought the springs used. I think I've got something around $500 in the suspension and the car handles amazing.

My '99 has a headerback racing beat exhaust that I'm very pleased with. It's a very quiet exhaust but sounds great. The sound actually reminds me of my Comptech S2k exhaust but it's even a little quieter.

I've also got the FM butterfly brace. It definitely helped to stiffen the car up a bit, but I didn't feel like the improvement was worth the cost.

Well that definitely takes care of the exhaust and lowers the car.

I was thinking about mentioning that too. I'd rather see him put a turbo 13B in it though.

my vote is a 5.0 liter mustang motor, they are fairly cheap to buy even if the motor goes out on you. def want to get coilovers of sum sort, and not all sway bars help so be selective in the ones u use. upper front and upper rear strut bars stiffen the frame.
