it truely is a great car. It's not the best car in the world (actually I don't believe there is a perfect car in existance) but it's great at many things.

Really the thing that amazed me most about the S2000 is how great it is for road trips. I've read so many threads here about how bad of a long distance car it is but after driving it 6,000+ miles on road trips (4,500 for one of them, about 1,700 for the other) I didn't understand the complaints.

Every once in awhile I think about selling it already for something with more power, or something more practical (to reduce the number of vehicles I currently own), etc.. and then I drive it and forget about selling it.

And, I know everyone complains about the stock HU and speakers, but after living 3 years in a Miata I'm impressed with how well I can hear the OEM stereo.
Get a set of Lucid's rear speakers and you will be impressed how much more you can hear. The stock HU has connections for 4 speakers, but only uses 2.

or... just swap out the headunit. The stock HU has zero power. The stock speakers will sound noticeably better with an aftermarket Headunit.

Either way, this is a drivers car and I'm glad to see a new user actually DRIVING IT!

negcamber, thanks for the link. I'll file that away for my birthday in April.

Gee, the cleanest my car will ever be is when I picked it up last week, freshly detailed. I believe that if the weather is good enough to be washing my car that I'd rather be out driving it. And if the weather isn't good enough to wash the car then I might as well drive it instead!

After enjoying driving it at the autoX on Saturday, I was feeling restless on Sunday. My wife and son just wanted to stay home and do nothing, so I cranked the heat, dropped the top, and drove around.

It seems that all my friends were out (I stopped at their homes but no answer when I knocked on their doors). Their loss; I was going to toss them the keys.

With this car I will have to watch carefully or I'll get my first speeding ticket in over 25 years; it accelerates so easily and the speed is deceptively smooth that I am constantly discovering that I'm going faster than I thought!
