New tune by Mase
Ok, so my S2000 had a great build and not so great tune. The car has been running worse and worse lately, so I finally decided to get it down to Mase at Mase Engineering, Jacksonville, FL and have him tune it for me. This is the first time I've met Mase, and not only is this guy a fantastic tuner, but incredibly nice and accommodating. The shop is nice and clean and he jumped right on my car pretty much right when I got there for my appointment. He tuned my car for both pump gas and 100 octane race gas. My car has been acting funny at the 4500 rpm range, which the previous shop couldn't figure out. Mase figured the vtec was set up wrong and he played with the computer and fixed that for me. They had it set up to the wrong type of port in the computer. The intake temp sensor also wasn't activated, which he fixed. This guy is a perfectionist. I tried to pay him some extra money for the extra work he did, but he wouldn't take it. He just wanted me to tell everyone what I thought of the tune. I'm telling you, if you need a tune, Mase is the man. Not only is the car running WAY smoother and quieter (less engine vibration), it's making considerable more power. The new numbers are 526rwhp and 412 ft/lbs torque. It used to make 341 ft/lbs torque and 511rwhp. The extra torque makes an amazing difference, and now the car doesn't sound like it's dying when trying to make the power.
While I was talking to Mase, he told me about a project he was working on where he's developing a bolt on kit for the S2000 to make 400+ rwhp, I believe he said without a head gasket. That would be amazing! Wish he came out with that before I did my build. I'm sure a lot of people will jump on that. Let's do the guy a favor and get the word out about it. The kit is gonna be insane!
