Yes Gerry, we stay in the hotel for the two nights. driving beats you up pretty badly and combined with the heat of wearing a fire suit all day a shower is welcome. We have talked about camping and might do it at Carolina Motorsports Park later this year. That's an awesome track to race, check out the layout.

It's 100 miles one way for me and the same distance for you. My program plotted all state roads for you, Devon, so you should enjoy the trip.

It's north of Florala.

Top, I'm in love with the course. Fire suits?

These races are not like a Solo II Gerry. We're driving these cars at high speeds and have to wear all the safety gear a full racer would wear. We are doing time trials or qualifying laps. We only run 2 to 4 cars at a time on the track with no passing but every lap is full tilt. We wear multi layer drivers suits (fire suits), nomex underwear, nomex head sock (balaclava), gloves, fire retardant arm restraints, and full 6 pt. harnesses. Nothing is different than a racer running Daytona or Sebring. In fact last Wednesday when I ran in a test day at Talladega I wore all that sh!t. Thank God it was a cool day.

Luckily course workers can wear just about anything they want to except maybe open toe shoes.

Okay, it was a senior moment. Drivers in fire retard, not marshalls. <duh>
