dave, you want to meet up with us? Haste is coming out from Orlando. I know it's wierd to drive from O-towne to Daytona just to go to Clermont, but it should be a day for fun driving.

OK I see that both locations on the poll have gotten a few more votes.

I think we conceded a loss to the Micro brewery in lieu of many of you/us liking the idea of the winery (SO's and others liking wine etc )

Suds can still be had at Okkeefeeee's (another concession we made a few days ago) Plus if Okeefeeeee's does suck we get to lynch Willie Gee LOL JK

Sorry for the confusion and I know we still have a couple of days left in the timeline I had established for this poll but I tried to finalize a game plan that included something along the lines of both wants (since the winery is not really an eating establishment) Plus we still have to hash out meeting times and head counts so this decision makes it easier to finalize things.

I am confident that this suggested game plan will be to everyones liking.

OK

Some one suggested 12:30pm as a meeting time for the Winery that sounds good, and I suggest we stay there until at least 1:30 or 2:00 to allow groups to meet up that may have had a late start. I also suggest a lunch/dinner time start of 2 or 2:30pm then we can hang out and look at cars etc etc.

A WORD OR TWO FOR EVERYONE: I know for us in the Tampa area, this whole mid day thing, means a pretty early start for our group drive before hand and what not, trust me, it is worth the early out of bedtime and subsequent planning. The 2pm lunch/dinner thing also means a late arrival back home for most of us. Basically a full day event for all. Again it is worth the driving and the miles and the planning. These group drives and gatherings are the best thing I have discovered since buying my car. OK I am done waxing LOL

Back to the game plan

Scott and I have our group drive planning going full swing. I have spoken to Willie Gee and he has Okeefeee's cooperating with us. We still need a delegate from each of the remote threads to chime in here after the 7th with a pretty solid head count so we can keep the locations advised as best we can.

Willie or someone close or familiar with the Winery, can ask you to contact them and tell them of our plans??? Zacksdad2 said he knows there is a grassy area for overflow parking or something to that effect and if we contact them maybe we can secure an area we can all park together. It is looking to be 40+ cars so it should be worth it to them to accommodate us a little

More to come. Those of you willing to be the delegate for your area please chime in and post what area you are speaking for, that way I can keep track.

Thanks to all of you for cooperating and understanding lets make this the best Florida meet yet!!!!

RoB

Sidenote: if you have S2000 items for sale that you can bring with you, by all means bring it. You never know what may be wanted by anyone.

UPDATE::

After talking with various people we have decided that NOON is a better meeting time for meeting at the Winery. Sorry for the confusion. This is nature of he beast when planning. Please take note and advise the people in your respective threads. The time should not change again. We should be staying at the Winery for a good bit (at least an hour or so) so you can show at or around that time.

This thing is getting huge quick, which is awesome. Right now including all the tentative people we have 29 cars with 38 people. There are bound to be walk ins as well as no shows so I am requesting that you tentative people try to finalize your decision soon as the better we plan the smoother the day will go.

Also Okeefe's is not a huge place. We are suggesting groups of 8-10 cars leave the winery staring around 1pm to arrive at okefees. This way the staff is not slammed all at once. Every 15 minutes or so we can get another group together to ride out etc etc until we are all there. Willie Gee will most likely be printing out good directions to get us from the Winery to Okeefes with maybe some twisies thrown in for good measure - we'll see. He is also going to see if it would be easier for Okeefes to prepare a meal for us or buffet style stuff or something more condusive to large groups so he will post more when he finds out.

I have taken the liberty of collecting the website address for the final meeting places as well as mapquest maps so people can get an idea of where these places are and give you the opportunity to print out some maps and directions for yourselves in case you are seperated for your group

I am also suggesting that every post a cell phone number in your local thread and complie a list so you can contact key people if you need to. I know many of you are taking walkie talkie radios and that is good but I have found that even the good ones get unreliable out in the boonies where most of these roads are going

Again much appreciation to all of you for helping out and attending. Be sure to thank your local thread wrangler for thier help as they are making this much easier to plan.

More to come soon.

Are we going to Kansas? I don't think we were Toto. That map of Okeefe's shows some place in Kansas near the Nebraska border. I sure hope that I don't lose the crowd.
