truthfully the membership is for recourse as well. if a deal goes south there is contact information and avenues to track down bad deals. The fee goes toward supporting the site that may get you a buyer for your high dollar item. Selling a 20.00 shift knob is different than say...selling a set of rims or a supercharger kit.

Our local policy of members only selling is a by product of the actual rule in place in the site-wide for sale forum as well as our want for the people that sell to us locally to be somewhat familiar to us and the site in general.

Come out to some meets and see what we are about, you wont be disappointed and you will start to understand our family-like atmosphere.

my suggestion: come to the meets, let everyone get a comfort level with you as a person, and understand the world we live in now and how the internet has removed so much accountability --- these measures, after membership, are for EVERYONES safety ... including yours.

my work schedule sucks too ... but, trust me, these folks are worth the drive and lack of sleep ... I would know!!

.... i think i may just start wearing a certain shirt and start having everyone autograph it when i go to these meets (with real names and handles) ... my own S2ki.com tour shirt!!!

That's not a bad idea.

Kickass ! I am soooo jacking this idea , especially since I'm moving 600-or-so miles away ! It'd be a nice way to remember my friends and family here in the FL forums .

Anyways - alot of us work crazy schedules . I live at my restaraunt . That's what I need to do for right now . It sucks , but I know I can show up to any given meet , and still feel like family . That's how good we are , how tight we are . You're not just joining a group , you're joining a family . It's also an excellent support system . Need tires ? Someone here can help . Need help with your next blinker fluid change ? Call Willie Gee . Anything you can imagine , someone here has been through or done before . You can stay a Guest , but atleast make an effort to come out and meet us . Trust me , you'll be welcomed warmly .

Off topic: Hey Jeremy I just noticed the sig.... that's so cute

On topic: The point here is that you CAN post whatever you want (sobeit non-threatening and decent within most cultural norms) but you CANNOT just jump on the forum and start selling. We'd love to have you come out and ZDave87 is the CO for Orlando and he definitely makes an effort to change it up so we meet in everyone's area. Jski7 is right: it's a family.
