Default Prayer request

I'm going under the knife on thursday. Having a "routine" procedure to fix a ruptured disc in my lower back. I have a huge fear of general anestesia (I'm shaking just thinkin of it). I've been trying to avoid this for 8 monthst by seeking different means of treatment spending thousands. I want to get my life back and get off the pain killers, so I've opted to go through with this again. I had the same procedure last year, which you think would put me at ease this time.

That being said, I'm doing everything right this time. Staying in bed till after the doc says ok. Joining a gym to get my wieght down. (I cary a bit around the middle) I don't want to do this again. And I recomend to anyone reading this. Don't be a tough buy, get someone to help you with heavy / awkward objects. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Hurts way more than when I broke my back in a car accident when I was 19.

Thanks,
Jeff

I know exactly what you are going through. I had to have a couple ruptured discs taken care of about 9 years ago. I went through the same routine of seeking other forms of treatment, spending tons of money on things that my insurance wouldn't cover, but to no avail. The surgery was the last resort but the only one that worked.

I'm sure it will go smoothly and will likely be over before you know it. And yes, being a tough guy will only make it worse. Take care of yourself just like the doc says to and you'll recover quick enough.

Wishing you the best man,

Matt

Question

is it a partial lamenectomy? Is it lumbar or cervical?

I have extensive experience with this as I have gone through partials and even a fusing and nerve re-routes as a result.

I know your pain and apprehention associated with this and I sympathizes greatly.

The technology is much better now than when I went through it. I ended up having large amounts of internal scarring and I have never been the same.

follow the docs instructions and complete ALL of your PT!!! Shortcuts and stopping after you "feel better" will hurt you in the long run.

Keep us posted and know that there are those of out there that know what you are going through.

Stay strong and dont think too much about the procedure.

Good luck my friend. You will be fine....and never stop moving

becoming sedentary will be your downfall...trust me on that one

I'm having an L5-S1 Microdiscectomy. They will be reomoving only the part that is pressing on the nerve. Looking forward to feeling better and plan on doing it right this time around.

I don't know you but I will pray for you. I hope that they use Diprivan as your anaesthetic. Great stuff! It is both a general anaesthetic and a hypnotic so it not only knocks you out almost instantly but prevents you from forming memories while under. Plus it metabolizes super fast so that you wake up quickly without any hangover.

I've read that they can give it to you continuously for days if necessary without any side effects.

As a bonus every syringe of Diprivan in the US is inspected for quality control using software I wrote. Immediately after filling it is rotated in front of two cameras so we get a full 360 view looking to make sure everything is OK.

When I had my colonoscopy they used Diprivan and I had an interesting talk with the doc before.

Have any of you tried upper cervical chiropractic care? If you say you have been to a chiropractor and it did no good, make sure you see an uppercervical DC. I have read some amazing research and the anecdotal reports support the practice. My ery good friend, routinely is refered patients from neurologists and orthopedics with great outcome. No, it may not work for everyone but it is worth a try before undergoing the knife....or even after if you are still in pain.

Upper Cervical

and Montel Williams and Upper Cervical

We will keep you in our prayers.
