As a decorated combat veteran and patriotic American, I will defend to the death your right to have and express whatever opinion you want. As would the president I'm sure.

However, please don't crap on my thread.
Your attitude is exactly not what the country needs to help pull us out of this dire mess we are in.

A part of me wondering if John McCain secretly is thinking to himself that by losing he got the better part of the deal.

as am I Capt.. and when I swore into service.. Nixon was pres and though I didn't care for him, he was my commander in chief... I say we stand behind the pres an see what shakes... today is a day in the history of the United States of America... and again a feather in our cap.. and... compared to the last two elections this election felt honorable fom both parties... Congratulation President Obama... god speed...

I thought about that too. McCain and the misses are sitting on north of One-Hundred Million bucks. I'd buy a boat and sail the world. Scratch that, he probably already owns one. I mean buy another boat. Even though I didnt vote McCain I really like him.

President Obama has a tall order. I personally wouldnt know where to start. There is so much wrong. Look at all the perceived reasons as to why it was unlikely for him to be where he is right now. I stop believing in coincidences a long time ago. Its never too late to turn things around. He nailed it on the head with the accountability. We will hold him to the flame. I do take my hat off to his bi-partisan efforts thus far. I honestly wouldnt have been so nice. Its not that I'm an angry person. Its just my nature I guess. Sssh....I'm working on it. He was elected the honest and true way. Democrats are in control of Washington. Why should he care what the opposing parties views are? He is going to run things very different than many Presidents of the past. His Republican courting has even alarmed many Democrats. I'm not going to bore anyone with the deep study and research I've done on how he conducts himself in the past.

On another note, we elect politicians to represent us as people. They are by no means angels. None of them! They shouldnt be either. They are ambitious calculating men and women. Obama is no different. As long as his agenda is aligned with what this country needs, who cares.

Very well said Onehots2k. I honestly feel we now have the closest thing to a common man in the whitehouse and not a child of priveledge like it has been for the last 2 1/2 decades.

Clinton grew up poor. But I agree with your point that Obama came from at most a middle class background.
