Who cares? I really dont see the big deal either way

I just hope, regardless of where he comes from, that he can lead this country in the right way.
its funny how its now the people who voted against Obama that now have the greatest sense of urgency for HOPE
Boy I HOPE he does well
I sure do HOPE he has the answers
I really HOPE our country will be in good hands
etc etc
This is kind of ironic, no?

a few here do ... hence Dans response to others here. Many people have a belief that he is NOT from the common political agenda (ie prevailing educational programming). In some ways he is ... in some ways he isn't

Personally I think it's great, everybody should give him a change, I mean chance!

If this thread in any way exemplifies how we are all going to pull together and move forward as a nation then I have very little HOPE.
We still have the closest thing going to a government BY the people, and FOR the people. (In case you may have forgotten YOU are the 'people' to which I refer.) EVERYONE has a choice of either sitting back in their Lay-Z-Boy and whining and complaining, or grab hold of the rope and start pulling alongside those of us who want to try to make the world a better place.
Personally I think we are ALREADY in the midst of a GLOBAL economic and monetary collapse and there isn't much that any government is going to be able to do to prevent it. Mitigate it some, soften the landing a bit perhaps, but it's still going to be a very, very hard landing. As Triman mentioned, McCain was probably the lucky one in this election. I don't think there are ANY potential policies that are going to allow us to pull out unscathed. Maybe Capt. Sully Sullenberger is available?
I really hope I am wrong, but I think the next 4 years are going to be incredibly difficult for whoever occupies the oval office. Whining and complaining about the President and Congress, the Democrats or the Republicans isn't going to fix/help any of it. I don't know when we became a nation of hateful, crybaby whiners. I sure hope they are just the vocal minority, rather than the lumbering majority.
Yale is actually a pretty easy school to get into and pay for, 56% of their students are from Public high schools and over 68% receive financial aid, 42% receive Yale scholarships. All you need are the test scores.

I had a nephew born on 1-20-2009
I had a friend celebrate his birthday 1-20-2009
I myself celebrated my 22nd bday on 1-20-2009
And I witnessed history in the making on 1-20-2009
A nephew, a friend and myself were all born on January 20th. And now the first black president begins on that day! LOL lets just say yesterday was one hell of a day for me.
We are all fortunate to be able to witness such a thing.
Good Luck Barack!
