If you would have been in a Mustang I bet you would have been all right. I think the Officer may have a problem with the car not the exhaust. I hope he doesn't live around you.

This cop wasn't FHP, but Hillsborough County. I had the top down, and I was checkin out my NEW XM Satellite Radio Normally I am very cognisant of where they are and keep the revs low, but I was listening to the Boneyard, probably loud too, and he snuck up behind me. The fact that he said he heard me blocks over I think is but, at least he didn't cite me. Personally I think he just wanted to check out the car!!!!

NO WAY JC do I want my stock exhaust back.... I am QUITE happy with what I have even without the resonators. It's been almost 2 years since I got it and this is the first incident soooooooooooooooo I'm just gonna leave it be

I'll definitely keep my open from now on though!!!!

Maybe it wasn't the car he was checking out. You do work out!

Just yesterday I was tailed by a Pinellas Co. Sheriff and this is third time that something like this has happened.(twice of which were before any mods)

They just tail me (running plates I assume). I think this usually because of:

1. they want to check out the car (my badges are all shaved so they not know what they are looking at

2. I did something borderline citation worthy and they were running plates to see if I was a habitual offender and then by good graces let me off (safe driver with no incidents in over 8 years)

3. Wanted to be at the ready in case I did show my A$$

Either way, I have had enough friends in the force and have enough respect for them to just be myself and drive correctly most of the time and especially with the POPO in sight.

I have found that, if ever in a pull over situation do the following.(goes for all cars)

1. (if at night) Pull over and immediately turn on all of your stock interior lighting (not neons) This informs the officer that you have nothing to hide. Officer hate the initial approach to any vehicle because of the inherent danger involved

2. Immediately roll down all windows (assuming top is not down). This will give them better access to you and also hide your tint if it is a little too dark

3. Be honest. If you were speeding tell them why. If you do not have your seat belt on, tell them why. They have heard the standard excuses 1000 times. So if you say "I did not know the speed limit or I lost track of my speed" they are going think your an idiot. I have found that if I give them an honest answer like " I was trying to pass traffic that was pacing me and making me nervous", or in some cases, I was just opening her up a little and then apologize for being an ass, they will most likely show you some sympathy. it may not get you out of the ticket entirely but I have had my speeding rate reduced by 10 or more MPH to lessen the ticket.

It all comes down to the type of officer and their attitude at the time. Most of us do not have cleavage and other female attributes so it is more difficult to sway the mostly male law enforcement officers out there.

If your record is pretty clean and the officer takes you as an average joe with no real issues he is likely to show some compassion if you don't try to BS him

This is just my $1.25 worth. It is not 100% but after talking with these guys outside of the work environment, i have learned not try to deceive them.

Hope this helps all who read it

I agree with what you are saying for the most part except the admission of guilt! I will never admit I was speeding so if it goes to court my attorney has less to dispute - My best friend is an Attorney here in Orange County and I have been dismissed from every ticket I have fought
