reason for the alignment (long story)
When I first got my S2000, I drove it down to west palm for a weekend. While I was down there I tested the handling late one night in a mall parking lot. The potenzas were so sticky I could get the back end break when making a tight circle. I left the mall parking lot, approached a left turn light and waited. Light turns green and I take off go across the intersection and spin the car out. In the process I hit the back wheel against the curb. (BTW, there were no other cars around at this time of night.) The alignment was out of whack. Next day I take it and get it aligned. They tell me everything is great and I believed them. After having 1000mi on the car I had to replace the back tires. Almost all of the those miles being Hwy. I realized that something must be wrong with the car and I take it to another alignment shop and they tell me they can't get it into specs. I then take it to a collision center and the tell that the knuckle the wheel attaches to it bent and needs to be replaced. They replace it and I install my third set of rear tires. This was at approx. 5k miles. The car has 12k on it now and I'm in need of tires again. Finally this is why I got the alignment check again. I was concerned that something was missed at the collision shop. Howard said that the alignment was out and that is probably what caused my tire wear. The thing is though, this whole time the right rear tires have been worn out the most which coincidentally is the side that had the impact. The repair is warrrantied for twelve months. Do you guys think I should take it back an have them look at it again? I hate to buy another set of tires to just have them wear down prematurely due to some other problem.
