I just went through this and it is not a cheap process. When I moved to FL back in October it cost me over $450. $61.25 for switching my license to FL and $394.xx for switching my tag! That does not include FL insurance since you have to be insured in Florida to even register a vehicle. Florida insurance is higher than some states since the state requires PIP, or personal injury protection, coverage and other states do not. Also uninsured motorist coverage varies from state to state. Some insurance companies will even drop you if the find out your car is garages in a different state than the state insuring you.

^ Well the State of FL went up on their fees in September. Sux because I have two cars to register. I had to wait until I owned my car 6 mos or else the state would have slapped on Taxes too. WTF.

Anyone know what it costs when your registration is up to renew? I am moving to NY but plan to keep FL insurance and registration so will sign up for 2 years before moving.
