The Rolex is about a good time and great cars. The demographics of the participants are more varied than any other event i have ever been to. Without question rednecks attended in their $800,000 campers. Rich Latinos cooked sides of beef in an open fire pit. European models scoured the scene looking for famous race car driver to share the night with. The Porsche paddock was amazing, every single model from every single year could be found. The who's who of the Southeast Auto-X scene exhibited their cars in the GRM paddock. Six figure cars bumped shoulders with all night campfires and some of the most beautiful women you can find on or near a race track. It is a first class event with full access. The cars and people there are simply amazing. You could have share the insight of Martin, picked the brain of someone who has a racing heritage that would make your head spin. Anybody who could muster up the courage to ask, could've learned alot.
i have to agree with willie gee, it was a great race all in all the car i was spotting for only made to the 8hour mark. but i did have the chance to talk with martin, and let me tell you i wish i can do what he has done in racing. to work with some big name guys from way back in the late 70s through the 80s and 90s and today.

and to hear that he has pace notes for the dragon (yes thats what a co-pilot is for in WRC) thats crazy. so yes i was able to pick his brian alil and find out where hes been and who he has worked for, and if anyone ever gets the chance to talk to him about anything car related or not car related he can help you a bunch.

it was a pleasure hangin with some of the florida group, and your all welcomed for the pit cart ride around the track.

Thanks again

Rene

I was just amazed at how well those rx8's performed... watching them blow by a factory prepared GT3 was awesome!

PS. when my wife that McDreamy was there, she wanted to go right over!!

yea all the Rx-8 that actually ran the entire race are SpeedSource built cars. so there all the same.

and you to can have a SpeedSource Grand Am GT Rx-8 for only $250,000.
