i never had an opportunity to go to something like this because of living in PA my whole life. all they have is shitty pocono. so im really excited. im goin alone since hardly anyone i know even knows what the rolex 24 is, let alone watches the series on tv. i just got an SLR so im really pumped to take some pictures.

does anyone know if there are tickets left?
You can literally drive up to either entrance and they will sell you a ticket as you sit in your car. If you come on Saturday for just the 24hr race you may want to get there about 1-2 hours early (starts at 1:30pm). Otherwise you may have to park outside the track and walk in (usually about half a mile ... or more!).
Prepare to do a lot of walking if you get the infield ticket (the best atmosphere in my opinion).
Garage access is much better than just the Spring Fanzone if you really enjoy being close to the garages, team members, and cars.
here is the schedule for this week with all the race events:

Here is the ticket info. Keep in mind that these prices usually do NOT include tax or service fees (i think i paid a $10 service fee per ticket last year!

thanks its nice have a bit of info being a first timer and stuff. i plan on taking a lot of good pics in the infield and hopefully the race.
i'm not really a fan of just one driver ... more about the 'team' effort. It is nice to see such a great collection of drivers from so many different aspects of racing.
This event is great for fan/spectators for so many reasons ... this is completely unlike any other racing event: typically you have to fight for a seat (with either physical or finanancial prowess) and then you don't dare move unless its an emergency AND then being comfortable with your 'neighbor' can be quite a task. At the Rolex24 you have so much freedom to walk along the more than 2 miles of track (mostly within 30-40ft of the cars.)
Besides being a facility with incredible access and never a 'full house' of spectators ... it makes the enjoyment factor even easier. Add to all of that the fun of seeing a race progress from day into night ... mmm mmm mmm ... sweetness!
The amount of visible flaming exhaust gasses is enough to concern any safety steward!
Shutter-bugs exhaust rolls/flash drives with smoking horror!!
Sorry ... i'm a little biased. If you prefer a regular NASCAR event ... this is not for you. Much more laid back. Tons of campfires and even more exotic cars then you'll see at most concours. I've seen and Enzo there for the last 3 years (yes, driven there like we would a civic!
) and usually a Porsche Club coral with lots of rare models.
