Rolex 24
Some of my fondest memories of the Rolex24 is spectator cars. Such a great mix of breeds and interests. Motorheads seem to carry a common bond regardless of their choice. I do miss it but I've made the promise to have my +1 there with me ... and her schedule doesn't always allow it. Next year it should be a sure thing ... and should be a nice precursor to our wedding
As usual, there were a ton of pretty cars at the Rolex this year. Not only was there the regular Porsche Paddock filled to brim with every porsche imaginable from 356 tubs to 928s to the modern GT2s. There were Ferrari 458 itialias in the race. They were held to strict intake restrictions to be classed with the GT2s, and were consequently silent and underpowered. The 458 you can buy and drive home have more power than what was on the track today. Bizarre but that's the politics of Racing...
I'm off topic, meandering in this post.
There were a TON of pretty cars this year. Ferrari paddock, Porsche Paddock, the GRM paddock, and all kinds od Maseratis and Corvettes, and yet the S2K turned heads. Even my tastlessly modified s2k, humbly 8 years old complete with scratches, melted bumper and chipped paint, turned heads. I literally sat and watched people walk by, stop and look and photograph my car. Less a testament to me, and more of a testament to Honda. Kudos for a design that is already standing the test of time.
